CNY NORDIC HOLDS 2026 JNQ AND CITIZENS RACE AT OSCEOLA SKI AND SPORT
We are back with a two day race!
Classic style on Saturday and freestyle on Sunday! Race distances are 5k and 7.5k for juniors looking for JNQ points. Citizens can race either 5k or 10k.

The course is a challenging 5k loop with a cut off for 7.5k skiers. If conditions are less than optimal, we may choose to shorten the course to 2.5k. With snow conditions looking favorable we are hopefull!
Sign up for both days and recieve a ten dollar discount!
New this year, we will have a dedicated timer using web scorer to accurately time the event.
Each racer will recieve stickers from the event, and top three finishers will recieve wooden laser cut medals (similar to graphic shown above).
This is an individual start race and we will notify racers of their start time and bib number prior to the race, or on race day.
We ask racers to register prior to the race, and preferably pay online to prevent a logjam on race day. Day of registration will be limited and be more expensive.

2025 Red Barn Rendezvous Race Report
January 11 2025 turned out to be an amazing day for the race! 62 racers came out to ski the 5k and 10 k freestyle race on cold snow with slightly overcast conditions in the 20 to 25 degree f range. For the first time we were able to use all the trails at Osceola Ski and Sport Center.
Volunteers showed up early to mark the course and check in racers. Thankfully we had another large showing of Rochester HS racers that were ready to test themselves on the twisty and fairly hilly course. Comments from racers included that there was “no where to recover” on the course and at least one “ouch” at the finish.
We had some fast finishing times for the top three men and women in the 10k. The fastest mens time was from Drew Larsen of Honeoye Falls at 30:13 and the fastest women’s 10k time was from Marianne Spyra of Pittsford at 35:33. Fastest times for the 5k included Andy Fosler from Honeoye Falls with 21:02 and Nora Newell from Oswego with 19:27.

RESULTS

Several racers from CNY Nordic completed the race, and while they did not best the High School athletes from Rochester, they all completed the race in respectable times.
Martin Donnelly-Hegg posted a time of 37:38 in the 10k, Dan Brodhead finished with a time of 37:48, Robert Kaschak with a time of 58:10, Sleight Vonden with 58:53 and Megan Donnelly Hegg with a 5k time of 41:13

2022 Winona Forest Try-It Race

By Emily F Last weekend I raced the Winona Try-It races m skate race for both Ben & Gaetane, and I think we had the best looking skinsuit design (thanks to Brian)!! I won the morning’s 9km classic race for women & also won the afternoon’s 18km skate race for women! Not often that I can race 2 ski races in 1 day, but fingers crossed its good training for this year’s Birkie. I won an entry into the Birkie & will be flying in for the 50km skate race (Feb 26th).
